Betting preview: Stormers v Chiefs

South African conference runners-up, The Stormers, host the Chiefs on Saturday in what is an intriguing match-up.

Amazingly, the Chiefs only finished in fourth position in their conference, despite only losing two of their games. They also ended with 15 more points than their opposition on Saturday.

Chief’s Team News

There have been a few surprises sprung in The Chiefs line-up. The chief one is veteran outhalf Stephen Donald is set to start at inside centre. The man who kicked the winning penalty in the 2011 World Cup comes in to replaceĀ Charlie Ngatai.

Elsewhere, Sam Kane and Brodie and Brodie Retallick return to the side and Liam Messam is also fit enough to start.

Stormer’s Team News

The Stormers welcome SP Marais back at full-back after his lay off, while Rynhardt Elstadt has recovered from his wrist injury.

Newly signed propĀ Steven Kitshoff is ineligible for the match.

Betting tips

The Stormers will be looking for revenge after their heavy loss to New Zealand opposition last year. That 60-21 loss to The Chiefs really hurt this side and they will be wanting to right that wrong against the same side.

They haven’t lost to a New Zealand side at home and we think they’ll make amends for last year’s annihilation. They are priced at 11/8 to do so.
